Lungisa Dikana, popularly known as Lulu, was a renowned South African recording artist, born on 18 December 1978, who left an indelible mark on the country's music scene. She hailed from a musical family, and her early passion for singing began in her local church when she was just 15 years old. After graduating from Fort Hare University with a law degree, Lulu's love for music led her to release her debut album, My Diary, My Thoughts in 2008, which instantly became a hit.

With hit tracks like "Real Love" and "Life and Death," Lulu's soulful voice and music style quickly gained popularity, making her one of the most celebrated R&B artists in South Africa. In 2011, Lulu released her second album, This Is the Life, which earned her three nominations at the 2013 Metro FM Music Awards, and won the "Best R&B/Soul/Reggae Album" at the 19th South African Music Awards.

In 2014, Lulu released her third studio album, I Came To Love, which was equally well-received and earned her three more nominations at the 21st South African Music Awards. However, Lulu's career was cut short when she was diagnosed with oesophageal perforation in 2009, and underwent five operations. Sadly, on 3 December 2014, she passed away at a hospital in South Africa after a brief illness.

Lulu's legacy as a talented and accomplished artist lives on through her music, which continues to inspire and move people. Her contributions to South African music will always be remembered, and she will be sorely missed by her fans, family, and friends.
